Meet Your Doula

A Bit About Me;

I'm a mother of three (a daughter and twin boys) wife and friend, based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with neighbouring counties South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire (which I also cover as well as virtual support!). I love nothing more than spending time with my family exploring all our beautiful Peak District has to offer. I'm also a bit of a foodie!

Like most people working in the birth space, I was called to this work by my personal experience. Initially I was so scared of birth due to very close family and friends experiencing traumatic births. I opted for what I thought was the safest choice of a planned cesarean. I had to jump through many hoops for the birth I wanted. Team this with my second birth of twins, which was categorised as high risk, where I was only told the bad stuff on a weekly basis and was offered very limited information and options. I was left fearing for their survival and in a very dark place. I felt the need for individualised and independent support so so deeply.

Then by a complete chance encounter I fell upon the role of a Doula and without hesitation I told myself "I'm going to do this!". And so You Doula You was born...
